Semanal.org needs some work to make it look and feel better.

Here are some suggestions:

• Rotating Header. anyone can make a new header...and it can change wehn you refresh.
• discussion list so we can talk about things, plan themed weeks
• smaller sticky on front page to explain site. link to longer About page
• change background image (ryanne?)
• make the sidebars less cluttered. give graidnet color to make them stand out.
• make an RSS feed of comments (with enclosures) so people can subscibe to videos.
• add "2008" to the title of each post So it reads, "Week 4, 2008". This way people in the future know the project has happened.
• Can we make the blog posts more elegant? on front page i'd love just a link to each week...rather than it having all the stuff that goes with a blog post.
• Can we turn this whle thing into a showinabox "group" theme? be cool to make this easy for others to do the same thing.
• Find a way to export a XML file of all the data on Semanal. This way developer's can  play with the info...build widgets to present the info in different ways.
• Add some field to the Comment box. assume this means changing some PHP. Name, email, website, Video URL (for popup playback), Video permalink (for comments), Thumbnail (to better represent the video)
• can we allow vloggers to upload an avatar thumbnail to our server that shows up when they post? (see http://photomatt.net/2008/01/10/top-emailers/#comments  He uses Gravatar, a service, but maybe we can host the thubnails ourselves)
• clean out irrlevant info in comment post: example "2008-01-10 08:53:23"
• someone with graphic skillz could make a badge for folks to put on their blogs
• put a link to the "comment permalink" on each comment.
• make a "subscribe" page
• transfer videos from week 2 from the Ning site to WP site. Erase ning site.
• add a bbPress forum or Simple Forum plugin
• Game Tags? (maybe we have a Semanal Games page where I can go see what games are being played.

  Each game has a "game tag".

  Then when I post a video comment, there is another field that let's me

  add my "game tag".

  The Semanal Games page then aggregates those tag comments in a watchable order.

• change the "defualt" thumbnail if someone posts a video comment without their own thumbnail
• after someone leaves a comment, add a message letting them know their first comment will be moderated...plus email link to help@semanal.org
• add list of previous weeks on sidebar for easy browsing
• Make a page that lists links of every week on the project
• make a "members" page listed by country? maybe have country leaders?
• make "recent videos" plugin show recent video comments?
• add forum: http://www.stuff.yellowswordfish.com/simple-forum/simple-forum-main-features/ (I am trying to do this here)
• can I add youtube embed code to comments box?
• add RSS icons on frontpage of Semanal
• does "search" box search in comment box?
• how to disconnect thumbnail and video size from each other
• add http://www.photodropper.com/wordpress-plugin/ so we can search for CC licensed photos
